Having just returned from leading a group of wildlife enthusiasts out to Baja, Mexico I have to report on the stunning wildlife and landscape photography opportunities that exist there.
Fantastic desert landscapes abound in the mountains of The Sierra de la Giganta and among the offshore islands. Very different from the traditional landscape vistas we are used to in Europe and extremely challenging with the changing and variable light conditions.
For the bird and wildlife photographer there are a many opportunities. Unusual birlife includes the turkey buzzards and magnificent frigate birds along with old favourites like the blue footed booby and brown pelican. Marine mammals like sealions along with the iconic gray whales of the pacific coast afford the dedicated wildlife photographer opportunities that can only be dreamed of as we sit through a cold and dampEuropean winter.
